Office files of various projects and programs including records from the late 1970's during which time emphasis was on community center activities. Programs included day care center, alcoholism program, Brooklyn Renaissance Coalition for Jobs (a job development program), tenants union, and election district changes. Papers include CETA and NEA proposals, correspondence, programs, news clippings, and contracts. Diverse programs sponsored by New Muse are illustrated through fliers, correspondence, memos, calendars of events, press releases, news clippings, some photographs of performers, workshops, festivals and special events for Black History Month. Other program records contain correspondence regarding exhibitions, jazz musicians and important black historic figures. Jazz program records consist of bookings for musicians, flyers for street and music festivals, and concerts and lecture series material, as well as correspondence, memos and grant applications. Also series of fliers and other information concerning black cultural and historical events and workshops primarily in New York City, 1983-1984.
